« Performing  music for kids is definitely the best, most fun thing I could ever be doing with my daytime hours. Even with the familiarity that has come with the ten thousand or so hours I've put in, most days it's more than just a job. It's really rewarding and fulfilling from a plurality of vantage points; whether as an educator, musician, orator, spoken word freak or social scientist; working with kids never fails to re-categorize itself as an activity of high privilege. Sometimes they learn. Often they would rather just laugh, sing along and freak out. Either way, i share a special connection with them through songs. »

With his fifth children release, Blues machine in 2008 the Micky Farkas catalog grew to over an hundred originals that have tickled and rocked over a million kids at live performances since 1996.

While studying music at Vanier College, in 1995 Michael Farkas decided to begin playing music at the college daycare which was located in the music wing. The children liked him so well, that with in two years is job had mushroomed into a dozen.

Master of Ceremonies, animator of family events, rocker of country fairs Micky Farkas brings children into his world of rhythms by blending story telling, word bending, dinosaur dances, country picking and reggae skanking.
